Meet Ms Nomsa Mokoena, a passionate dietitian with a love for adventure and baking.

While she may not always create treats labelled as ‘healthy,’ Ms Nomsa firmly believes in balance. She advocates for a dietary approach where there’s always space for the foods we love, emphasising that a healthy lifestyle doesn’t mean forsaking all our culinary pleasures. This philosophy underpins her approach to nutrition — making life’s journey healthier and more enjoyable.

Ms Nomsa’s academic journey took her to the University of Pretoria, where she laid the groundwork for her future in dietetics. Upon graduating, she embarked on a leap of faith and moved to Kwa-Zulu Natal to fulfil her community service obligations. This year proved to be a rollercoaster of highs and lows, enriched by the discovery of numerous hiking trails that satisfied her exploratory spirit. It was here that Ms Nomsa found the courage and inspiration to venture into her own practice, a dream that led her back home to Mpumalanga.

Central to her practice is an unwavering respect for her patients’ diverse cultural eating patterns. Ms Nomsa believes that embracing one’s unique identity is crucial to leading a healthy lifestyle; hence, she ensures that her nutritional advice is as unique as the individuals she serves. Her friendly, approachable demeanour and professional expertise make her a cherished dietitian who’s not just about prescribing diets but about crafting lifestyle changes that resonate with your personal story and cultural background.
